Mining Manager – Straits Asia Resources
Straits Asia Resources is a Singapore incorporated company listed on the SGX with a market capitalisation of approximately SGD$ 2.0 billion. SAR is primarily engaged in the development and operation of two 100% owned coal mines in Kalimantan Indonesia. The Sebuku mine is located on Sebuku Island, South Kalimantan, and commenced production in 1997. The Sebuku mine currently has JORC compliant coal resources of 928 million tonnes and produced 1.98 million tonnes of thermal coal in 2009. In October 2007, SAR purchased the Jembayan coal mine in East Kalimantan which currently has JORC compliant resources of 504 million tonnes and produced 6.2 million tonnes of thermal coal in 2009. SAR has completed extensive exploration study to grow its resource and reserve base and is now embarking on an ambitious growth programme by ramping up production over the next few years.
MINING MANAGER
Responsibility:
* Achieve annual production targets (+/- 10 mt) by effectively managing contractors and employees and ensuring that sufficient resources are available to achieve the target;
* Achieve safety target of zero injuries by ensuring the risk are adequately assessed, control are identified and procedures are developed, documented, and communicated to relevant contractors and employees;
* Achieve environmental target and no significant incident by ensuring that operations follow all environmental requirements and cost performance, and building a positive work culture;
* Participates in and effectively contribute to the management of the entire mine site in order to achieve the best possible performance of the mine;
* Communicates or assists in communicating the status and result of projects via written report and oral presentation to management;
* Develops and manages strategic project management policies and procedures;
* Plans and monitors business operations.
Requirement:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent;
* Possess KTT qualification;
* Have certificate of Mine Operation Controller (POP or POM or POU);
* Knowledgeable in Mine Reclamation, Rehabilitation and AMDAL;
* Experience to operate Mining Software (Map info, Surpac, Mines Cape, etc);
* Having 5-10 year(s) of working experience in related position and at least 3 years in managerial position;
* Applicants must be willing to work in Kalimantan.
